Fly
04:14
|
|||
To Fly
Take care not to tread too much upon the grass
Or touch the flowers growing by the concrete path
It's texture to all this metal and the glass
Swimming in the air that we see and breathe
Faces pass me, drawn and unaware
More and more my spirit wants to
Fly, over the trees
To the mountains and the streams
To taste the crystal breeze
To leave all behind and fly
Imitation ferns drape from the balustrade
Over plastic pictures of a river so displaced
It’s a poor escape for a heart that is dismayed
With the everyday push of "something more"
The faces pass me, drawn and unaware
More and more my spirit wants to
Like the clouds I want to
Fly, over the trees
To the mountains and the streams
To taste the crystal breeze
To leave all behind and fly
You tell me it's not the way
To turn my back on this avid age
To open up this cage and
Fly, over the trees
To the mountains and the streams
To share the crystal breeze
To leave all behind and fly

Clouds of Magellan
03:55
|

Clouds of Magellan
Watching the time-piece unwind on cold winter’s night
Hearing the heartbeat, the rhythm of breathing again
Staring at endless skies whirling around, here on the ground
a traveler in time
From the Clouds of Magellan
To the Boat of Orion
In the eyes of a child
There’s time
Connecting the notions of distance and the nature of being
Of the space between galaxies, atoms, and us,
Sensations of floating or falling, release from this earth
I’m drawn to the sky
From the Clouds of Magellan
To the Boat of Orion
In the eyes of a child
There’s time
Hands over eyes I remember as a child
When time withdrew and all was close to me
And to reach out and touch the vast unknown
Was just so natural and the truth so free
From the Clouds of Magellan
To the Boat of Orion
In the eyes of a child
There’s time

I Fell
04:07
|
|||
I Fell
The world has traveled much
and of our fears we've touched
We tend to draw to any hope we find
And in the hearts defense
We hide in innocence
recalling days that were silver lined
And for you, just to see a day
a wind to carry us all away
And I fell, just like the rain so fine,
Within the season’s storm
In the wildest times
And of your voice tonight
So sure, so soft and quiet
Whisper years from within minds eyes
In reassuring you
Of tried and tired and true
I think we forged some of these ties
For you, when the days descend
The world is shaped and reasons end
And I fell, just like the rain so fine,
Within the season’s storm
In the wildest times
You Showed images from the other world’s side
Ohhh I can’t believe it, no just can’t believe it
How can these truths so evident be so denied
Ohhh I can’t believe, no I can’t believe it
For you, when the hour befriends
Another world where we transcend
And I fell, just like the rain so fine,
Within the season’s storm
In the wildest times
(Backing) From the swirling skies that descend
From the winds that cry for and age
and all to this end
I will love you

Scream
03:30
|
|||
Scream
Whatever doesn't break us makes us stronger
But what of the straw that broke the camel’s spine
It’s all your simple contradictions
bring me to my senses, right out of my mind
Look before you leap
But if you hesitate you’re lost
I scream at the sun
Howl at the moon and I run and I run
I call to the sky
And if I fall I’m telling you I just may fly.
Never judge a book by its cover
Remembering that clothes make the man
I’m over being under siege, under done
It’s the upside of being upside down
Better safe than sorry
Nothing ventured nothing gained
I scream at the sun
Howl at the moon and I run and I run
I call to the sky
and if I fall I’m telling you I just may fly.
Fly away, fly away
Like a bird uncaged
Fly away, fly away
Like a moth toward a flame
I scream at the sun
Howl at the moon and I run and I run
I call to the sky
and if I fall I’m telling you I just may fly.

Out of Time
04:12
|
|||
Out of Time
Somewhere under a flowing night sky
We stood transfixed by the lines
A figure stepped in from the darkness
and said, “son, I think that we’re out of time.”
And I heard the prayer of an earthen man
for sun to follow rain to follow sun again
Wheels in motion, a distant world’s light
spills through a window of ancient (faded) stone
we chart the movement of each moment
of horizons and rises, of the growing unknown
And I saw the shadows of the ebb and flow
look to the moon to sew and reap and sew again my friend
And if we can’t believe these signs
Can we hide behind these lies or are we out of time?
I find that the seasons are shifting
drifting uncertainty as weeks pass us by
science and seers deliver predictions
the sands advance, and a river dies
And I saw the figures of earthen kin
chanting words of healing around the fire again my friend
and if we can’t believe these signs
will we hide behind these lies, or are we out of time?
Hands sifting soil, looking for answers,
Satellites tracking a system’s decline
Seeking predictions of rhythms and cycles
Otherwise proffer an ending of time
and if we can’t believe these signs
will we hide behind these lies, or are we out of time?

Never Let You Go
03:15
|
|||
Never Let You Go
If I tried, I could never walk this Trail of Tears
Something sacred held in the whisper of those yesteryears
If only I had the words to say
The wind would come and carry them away, so...
Hold me
Hold me still
Hold me still that
I will never let you go...
Are we brave enough to teach the truth about those distant days
Or lose the lesson and let those precious fallen fade away,
And if the shedding of our tears would heal these wounds
Then let them flow till all this grief’s consumed so
Hold me
Hold me still
Hold me still that
I may never let you go...
Hold me
An let our lives entwine
Enfold me
In the dreams that could align us all
And we will wake to see such brighter days.
Hold me
Hold me still
Hold me still that
I may never let you go...

Winter's Moon
03:36
|
|||
Winter’s Moon
Trace the moment of this dream
The pale image, held by the frame
and I remember all those years before
Before the weariness that seems
to form this age, of this life,
Tell me what have we become?
Would you be with me,
Around this Winter’s moon,
You could be my muse,
And I will be your fool.
Mark the journal of our day
Set in stone, the time erodes
But I remember when,
We cast a coin to guide our way,
some afternoon, as shadows grew
The world was ours alone
Would you be with me,
Around this Winter’s moon,
You could be my muse,
And I will be your fool.
Around this Winter’s moon
It isn't that we've come undone
It isn't that we've moved away.
and leave these lives behind
If we could escape for just a day
Just toss a coin...
Would you be with me,
Around this Winter’s moon,
You could be my muse,
And I will be your fool.
Around this Winter’s moon.

She Waits
02:54
|
|||
She Waits
She holds the image of a recent past
Recalls all your days of dreams and dust
Some things fade from the mind
But you’ll find
She just thinks of you
She holds the moments of some yesterday
And laughs at all your times when retraced
Somewhere music plays again
And there my friend
She just sings for you
Do we live our lives filled with regret
Or take a chance on something new
Is it such a strange concept
That she is there and she waits for you

If
04:05
|
|||
If
Took the slow road South again
Trying to find some peace of mind
Evading lies and using time
Hiding from all this unease
Chased the brighter star today
To the foothills of my home
Climbed to where I was alone
And listened to the wiser winds
All through this age (I feel that I've been lost)
We strive and seek for more (lost within the storm)
If only we have known (if we had the time again)
What we were looking for (what would we find anew)
What we were looking for…
Heard the kestrel's cry, wheel and glide
And of the river's song, over wearied stones
Found worlds within the falling clouds and I guess
I fell to feelings that were not my own
Asked the questions that I hold
Waited for the moon to rise
Beside that lake I lazed
Until the snow fell softly down
All through this time
We've dreamt of something more
If only we had known
What we were dreaming for..

Whenever
04:19
|
|||
Whenever
Chasing the shadows across the waking earth
Day and night equal something of sequence tells
Moons and its phases rages and lazes tides
Drawing the curtain and wearing the morning sun
And all these days burn
The turning season,
The abbot unreason and I
A day at a time
And all these days turn
The dance of the fools
The lord of misrule
And I, a day at a time
Dancing in moonlight breathing the Crispen eve
Stirring the dust, the quickening rush of Spring
There’s magic in the flowing clothes and hair
And music is weaving the darkening evening air
and all these days burn
The turning season,
The abbot unreason and I
A day at a time
And all these days turn
The dance of the fools
The lord of misrule
And I, a day at a time

You Say
03:57
|
|||
You Say
To close your eyes to see
And rest within a scene
Of another time and place,
Where only we have been..
You Say the world is but a dream by another name
You say the feelings come and go, but we remain,
To hear a gentle word
Tangled through this day
Whirled within the hiding places we
Allow ourselves to stay.
You Say the world is but a dream by another name
You say the feelings come and go, but we remain,
Adrift on the air of this sensing,
Soaring , surrendered, falling and free
The quickening, the deepening, swirling pervasion
The releasing of our reality.
If the day should tire
Come weave your sleep with mine
Released from seasons hours and tides
Of the turning and the times
You Say the world is but a dream by another name
You say the feelings come and go, but we remain,
Oh the less we say...
